Book Biennial
The XIV International Book Biennial in Rio de Janeiro ended last September 20th, at Riocentro, Rio de Janeiro, with an estimated audience of 640 million people over 11-day event. The number of visitors was expected by the organization of the Biennial, the National Association of Publishers of Books and Eventos. The record attendance occurred on Saturday 19, when the Biennale has received more than 100 thousand people. In this edition there was an increase in the number of public office and a small reduction in the Visitation School. The Visitation School were 120 thousand students, against 173 thousand from last season, while the audience was spontaneous than 520 thousand people - in 2007 were 472 thousand. Were sold 2.45 million books that represent an estimated revenue of U.S. $ 51 million and 500 thousand.
